Rapid City Library to host 1972 Flood discussion with local author

RAPID CITY, S.D. — On June 8 at 2-3 p.m., the Rapid City Library will host a discussion with local author Troy Dobyns on the 1972 Flood.

The discussion will take place a day before the flood’s upcoming 50th anniversary and will be held in the library’s community room.

Dobyns was born in Rapid City and was 8-years-old when the flood devastated his town. His upcoming book details his own story, as well as those of his relatives and friends.
