Rapid City launches downtown parking website

RAPID CITY, SD– City officials announced today the launching of a new website featuring information about upcoming changes to downtown parking.

The public is encouraged to visit  www.ipsgroupinc.com/rapidcity .  The site can be accessed directly or clicking on ‘Downtown Parking Program’ in the Community Bookmark section of the City’s home page at www.rcgov.org .

The site currently includes a map of parking and metered areas; informational videos about how to use the new parking meters and pay stations; and frequently asked questions. Some elements of the website are still under development, including buying permits and paying citations.  When fully implemented by late June, the site will serve as a one-stop visit for downtown parking information and services.

City officials indicate the new parking meters are currently being manufactured by the vendor and are expected to arrive in Rapid City by late June.  Installation is expected to take a week upon arrival.

The City Finance Office is currently compiling a list of downtown employees and residents interested in the on-street permit program.  Anyone interested can contact the Finance Office at 394-4143. Notifications will be made when the online permitting website is fully launched.
