UPDATE: Rapid City inmate back in custody

UPDATE (Sept. 17) — Chaske Evans is back in custody. He turned himself in to the Pennington County Jail on Tuesday.

RAPID CITY, S.D. — Minimum-security inmate Chaske Evans has been placed on escape status. He left his community service job without authorization on Sunday.

Evans, 24, is a Native American male. He is 5-feet-9-inches tall and weighs 126 pounds.

Evans is serving three years and nine months for receiving/transferring a stolen vehicle from Pennington County.

The public is urged to contact law enforcement if you see Evans or know of his whereabouts.
