UPDATE: Rapid City inmate back in custody

UPDATE (11/8/2021 @ 6:45 a.m.): Christian White Face is back in custody after failing to return to the Community Work Center on Sunday.

White Face returned to the facility overnight.


RAPID CITY, S.D. – A Rapid City inmate was placed on escape status early Monday morning after failing to return to the Community Work Center on Sunday.

According to the Dept. of Corrections, Christian White Face, 24, left the Rapid City Community Work Center Sunday to go to his work release job but did not report after his shift at the assigned time.

White Face is a Native American male, is 6 ft. 2 in. tall, and weighs about 150 pounds. He has black hair and brown eyes.

He is currently serving a sentence for possession of a controlled substance in Pennington County.

Failure to return from assignment constitutes second-degree escape, a Class 5 felony punishable by up to 5 years in prison.

If you see White Face or know of his whereabouts, the DOC urges you to contact local law enforcement immediately.
