Rapid City Council holds open house on zoning amendment

RAPID CITY, SD — Planners are looking to clear up confusion about an amendment coming to the Common Council next week.

The council hosted an open house Wednesday evening to answer any questions from residents.

The amendment would adjust several future land designations in town.

It’s a tool that the city uses to determine what to zone and how. Council members say they want to change the land designation to make Rapid City more vibrant.

They stress that the city is not re-zoning properties.
