Rapid City Club for Boys receives two large donations toward $2 million campaign
RAPID CITY, S.D. — The Rapid City Club for Boys has been awarded two large donations toward its capital campaign of $2 million.
$810 thousand was awarded from the Rapid City Vision Fund toward the Club for Boys, in addition to $400 thousand grant from John T. Vucurevich Foundation.
The capital campaign is geared to fund five projects outlined by the Club for Boys, four of them are construction projects.
“It’s hard to believe that we started this campaign a little over five months ago and we are down to our last $70 thousand that we need to raise,” said Dave Oyler, Club Consultant. “The community has been tremendously generous to this campaign.”
The club plans to remodel the main building lobby and construct a new multisport court among other projects. Club for Boys provides around 80 thousand meals a year to kids who otherwise might not get a meal. This $2 million capital campaign is aimed at making this process sustainable and prosperous.
“When its all said and done, its all about improving the quality of the program that we do for the boys that we serve, and then taking care of the people that serve those boys,” said Oyler.
