Rapid City Christian standout signs with Colorado Christian
Kayla Clewley will play basketball for the Cougars
RAPID CITY, S.D. – Kayla Clewley from Rapid City Christian signed a letter of intent on Monday afternoon to play women’s basketball next year at Colorado Christian University in Lakewood, Colorado.
Clewley, who transferred to Rapid City Christian last season from Custer, has been a standout athlete for the Comets.
During her career, the 6-foot-3 senior was also chosen to play in the “National Down Under” basketball competition in Australia.
Clewley says playing in the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference played a part in her decision.
“My parents told me, ‘You need to go where ever you feel fit,'” Clewley said. “They’re like, ‘We’d like to be close and like to see some of your games. But if you feel like you need to go further,’ they were like, ‘You can go further.’ So that did play a little part in it. But most of all, it was just the feeling of the school.”
