Rapid City Chamber of Commerce merger with Elevate Rapid City a step closer to reality

RAPID CITY, S.D. — The Rapid City Chamber of Commerce merger with Elevate Rapid City took a big step forward on Thursday.

The Chamber’s Board of Directors approved the articles of incorporation. Those articles will now need to be approved by chamber members, which will happen during a chamber mixer on Tuesday, April 9.

The results will be announced the next day.

The Chamber of Commerce began considering a merger with Elevate in December in order to form a public-private partnership that would consolidate resources in the community.

Advocates say the move will foster small business development and overall economic growth in the area.
