Rapid City Central track athlete signs to compete in college

RAPID CITY, S.D. – Taylor Pourier from Rapid City Central signed a letter of intent on Thursday afternoon to compete in track and field at Dakota Wesleyan University in Mitchell.

Pourier participated in track and field for four years, as well as, volleyball and cross country for two years each.

The Central senior is currently gearing up for the State AA Track and Field Championships this weekend in Sturgis where she will compete in the long jump and at least one relay.

Pourier is leaning towards majoring in athletic training at Dakota Wesleyan.

“So when I visited Dakota Wesleyan, I realized it was more of a family community and it made me feel really good when I made that decision,” said Taylor Pourier. “It’s close to home which is a big thing for me. I have two younger siblings that mean a lot to me and I like to be close to home. I think it’ll be a great fit.”
