Rapid City business offers thanks to law enforcement for response to recent shooting
RAPID CITY, S.D. – When first responders do their job every day, they don’t always hear a “thank you” but on Wednesday, the Rapid City Police Department and Pennington County Sheriff’s Office did.
Western Dakota Insurors in Rapid City was uncomfortably close to a shots fired situation last week. The staff wanted to show its appreciation for the departments by buying them lunch.
They say law enforcement got between them and the situation, making them feel safe and not just during last week’s incident but every day.
“They commit a lot and they’re giving their time working all hours on call and don’t know where they’ll be going and what risk they’re going to take and they do that day in and day out for our community and we just wanted to say thanks,” said Vice-President of WDI, Rod Cowling.
