Rapid City Assault captures title at Wyoming softball tournament

WORLAND, WY – The Rapid City U16 Assault girls softball team won the championship on Sunday at the Worland Wildfires Invitational Tournament in Wyoming.

The Assault lost to Worland in their first pool play game. But then the Rapid City team cruised through the quarterfinals and semi-finals with victories over Greybull and Lander.

Eventually, the Assault defeated the Casper Cobras, 18-8 to win the championship.

Overall, the Assault scored 61 runs in their final four games at the tournament.
