Railroad crossing work to impact East North Street Monday and Tuesday

Rapid City, Pierre, and Eastern Railroad is planning work next week on the East North Street crossing

RAPID CITY, S.D. — Railroad officials, in an effort to repair several crossings by the end of summer, will be working on the crossing at East North Street on Monday and Tuesday, July 12 and 13.

Southbound traffic will be reduced to one lane on Monday and northbound traffic reduced to one lane on Tuesday while railroad panels are replaced.

The City Street Department will also do some necessary street repairs in that area in conjunction with the planned railroad work.

Drivers should use caution through the area and plan accordingly.

Looking ahead, railroad crews are also planning repairs on July 19, 20, and 21 on Fifth Street between Omaha and Main Street. Specific details regarding how traffic will be affected will be provided in the coming days.
