Prep Baseball Roundup: Stevens comes from behind to beat Central

RAPID CITY, S.D. —  The Rapid City Central baseball team squared off against the Stevens Raiders on Tuesday for the second time this season.

The Cobblers were looking for revenge after falling to the Raiders by four runs back on April 2.

Central led 2-0 going into the sixth inning on Tuesday night. But Stevens scored three unanswered runs in the top of the sixth inning and beat the Cobblers, 3-2.

In fact, the game was tied at two in the top of the sixth, when Judge Hutto was struck by a pitch, driving in the winning run for Stevens.

Both teams were led by strong pitching.

Porter Wimp surrendered two runs on five hits over three and a third innings, while striking out six for Stevens.

Meanwhile, Mitch Sand allowed two hits and zero runs over four innings, striking out four for Central.

Stevens is now 4-7 on the season. Central falls to 4-5.

The Raiders will travel to Sturgis on Thursday, April 25 to battle the Scoopers. Meanwhile, Central will play at Harrisburg on Friday, April 26.
