Central States Fair set to host the PRCA Xtreme Broncs Finals

RAPID CITY, S.D. – The top saddle bronc riders from across the country will once again gather in Rapid City this week for the PRCA Xtreme Broncs Finals.

The Xtreme Broncs Tour, which has around 20 stops across the country, is a series of events that features only saddle bronc riding competition.

The tour will wrap up on Thursday, Aug. 27 with the finals at the Central States Fair.

The event features the top 12 saddle bronc riders in the PRCA standings, along with the top 12 cowboys who have competed on the Xtreme Broncs Tour.

The riders will be competing for the Xtreme Broncs title, as well as, a share of $64,000 in prize money.

All the money earned on the tour will count towards qualifying for the Wrangler National Finals Rodeo.

“Reigning champ of the world Zeke Thurston is going to be here,” PRCA rodeo announcer Andy Stewart said. “Reserve world champ Brody Cress is coming back. Brody won this deal here a year ago. He and Wade Sundell split the win. So it’s a who’s who in saddle bronc riding. Not to mention, we’re going to bring back past champions and some of the great legends of bronc riding. You’ll get a chance to meet prior to the event. The first ones through the doors are going to get a one of a kind what we call, not the terrible towels, but these are the first ever made in rodeo history. They’ll be autographed by the bronc riders and it’ll give you the opportunity to wave this towel in the air. Cheer on your favorite bronc rider.”

The Xtreme Broncs Finals will kick off on Thursday at 7 p.m. at the Central States Fair.

A limited number of tickets are still available at the fair grounds.
