Post 320 sweeps Miles City to open the season

The Rapid City Post 320 Stars opened the American Legion baseball season on Saturday by hosting the Miles City Outlaws in a doubleheader at Pete Lien Field.

The Stars won in walk-off fashion in the first game, outlasting the Outlaws for a 2-1 victory. Then Post 320 defeated Miles City in the second game, 17-13.

In the first game, the Outlaws scored first thanks to an RBI double by Jace Notbohm in the top of the seventh inning.

But Post 320 answered in the bottom of the 7th. Renn Svenson scored on a sacrifice fly by Zane Salley to tie the game at 1-1.

Then Camden Nayman blooped a single into right field and Mason Russell scored the game-winning run.

Dawson Penticoff was outstanding on the mound for Post 320. He allowed just one hit and zero runs over six inning, striking out seven and walking one.


In the second game, Post 320 broke a 12-12 tie by scoring five runs in the bottom of the fifth inning en route to 17-13 win over Miles City.

Ian Krump, Zane Salley, Renn Svenson, Grayson Skinner and Dawson Penticoff all had multiple hits for the Stars.
