Post 22 punches ticket to state championship game

Post 22 Expos will play in the finals at the State 'A' Junior Baseball Tournament

MITCHELL, S.D. — Rapid City Post 22 scored six runs in the fourth inning on its way to an 8-1 win over Yankton on Monday at the State ‘A’ Senior Baseball Tournament.

Ryan Bachman, Alex Weaver, Jace Caldwell, Blake Weaver and Mason Messinger all drove in runs during the fourth inning.

Bransen Kuehl earned the victory on the mound for Post 22. He allowed one hit and zero runs over six innings, while striking out six.

The Hardhats will now play Renner for the state title on Tuesday at 12 p.m.

Since Renner is undefeated in the tournament, Post 22 will have to beat Renner twice to win the state title.

The Expos will play Renner for the State Junior title on Tuesday at 12 p.m. at Pete Lien Field in Rapid City.
