Heavy police presence in Rapid Valley

UPDATE (9:05 p.m.): At around 7:40 p.m. Saturday evening, police were dispatched to the business adjacent to the intersection of East St. Patrick Street and South Valley Drive for a report of an individual with a gunshot wound.

When police arrived, they located two individuals with fatal gunshot wounds outside of the business.

Preliminary information from the Rapid City Police Department indicates the incident was a murder-suicide.

RCPD believes there is no ongoing threat to public safety at this time.

The collective sympathies of the RCPD go out to those affected by this incident.
