Poker run benefits Pennington County Toys for Tots

Though Saturday was the first official day of Fall, Christmas and the holiday season is right around the corner. On Saturday, The community today helped provide gifts for kids this holiday season.

Around 50 bikers left The Gaslight Restaurant & Saloon in Rockerville and rode through the hills on a traditional poker run.

They then ended at Black Hills Harley Davidson where they all donated toys to Toys For Tots of Pennington County. Though the organization is always looking for donations, they’re feeling extra pressure this year.

“This year with Toys R Us not being around, they’ve always helped us in the past,” said MaryAnne Whittle, the coordinator for Toys for Tots of Pennington County. “It’s going to be extra hard, and we’re going to have to put forth extra effort to make up for them being here this year.”

At the end three riders were also awarded a cash prize provided by Harley Davidson.
