Pinedale Elementary students and staff host Veterans’ Day program, Monday

RAPID CITY, S.D. — Pinedale Elementary students were able to put together a special program for veterans on Monday. The students sang a few songs for the crowd that came to honor veterans and active service men and women.

A special guest speaker for the half-hour program was Ryan Wiley of the U.S. Air Force, whose daughter attends the school.

His speech discussed respecting different customs and their importance.

Principal Chip Franke noted that older students had created tributes for veterans that were put on display in the school. In addition, some Veterans’ Day designs made by students were made into coffee cup sleeves and were served at the Alex Johnson Hotel Starbucks, Monday. Place-mats at the Millstone Restaurant also contained designs made by Pinedale Elementary students.
