Pinedale Elementary named a National Blue-Ribbon School

RAPID CITY, S.D. — A Rapid City school is one of four in the state to be named a National Blue-Ribbon School.

Pinedale Elementary is receiving the honor along with Arlington Elementary, Gettysburg Middle School and O’Gorman High School in Sioux Falls.

325 schools around the country receive the honor.

The Blue-Ribbon Award affirms the hard work of educators, families and communities in creating safe, welcoming schools where students master challenging and engaging content.

“It’s really a community effort,” said Chip Franke, Pinedale Elementary Principal. “I mean, the unified belief that we care about student attendance, we care about student learning, we care about teachers collaborating. Teachers planning together and a highly engaged P.T.A. and parent community. So, it’s really a win-win for just about everybody.”

The National Blue-Ribbon Schools Program is in its 39th year.
