Pine Ridge man sentenced to federal prison for assault charges

RAPID CITY, S.D. — A Pine Ridge man is sentenced to federal prison for punching his sister  then punching, strangling and suffocating a woman he dated.

25-year-old Dallas Yellow Shield Condon got four-years and nine months, for each of the four counts of which he was convicted. The sentences will run concurrently.

Prosecutors say Condon in 2015 punched his sister in the face in Pine Ridge. They say Condon then traveled to Wounded Knee, where he strangled his dating partner to the point of her losing consciousness.

Then when she started to come out of unconsciousness, he beat her in the face, chest and abdomen.

Three months later, he again assaulted the dating partner while punching her multiple times in the face and nose. She needed to have surgery after that attack.
