Pine Ridge man indicted on first-degree murder, other charges
RAPID CITY, S.D. – More charges have been filed against the Pine Ridge man accused of shooting 30-year-old Sloane Bull Bear in the head last month, including first-degree murder.
Colton Bagola, 26, was indicted Wednesday and charged with first-degree murder, discharge of a firearm during the commission of a crime of violence, and tampering with evidence.
The affidavit alleges Bagola shot Bull Bear in the early morning of Dec. 17 after making statements of “wanting to kill somebody”, “let some off”, or needing “to take a soul”.
Bagola later pleaded not guilty to an original charge of second-degree murder after being taken into custody following a Rapid City standoff Dec. 20.
If convicted, first-degree murder is punishable by death or life in prison without parole.
