Pine Ridge Indian Reservation on 72-hour lockdown
UPDATE: (5:01 p.m.) – Administrative Leave is granted for all employees during the lockdown with the exception of first responders and emergency personnel.
PINE RIDGE INDIAN RESERVATION, S.D. — Oglala Sioux Tribe President Julian Bear Runner has declared a 72-hour lockdown for the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation.
Effective immediately, all businesses and borders will be closed to everything except emergency vehicles, law enforcement and ambulances. All traffic coming onto will be stopped and people will be asked to return home.
An emergency council meeting will be held in the next 48 hours.
