Petting Zoo sets up at Black Hills Stock Show
RAPID CITY, S.D. — Not everyone arrives to the Stock Show with livestock of their own, but most everyone hopes to at least catch a glimpse of a fuzzy friend. So, the Great American Entertainment Company provides an opportunity to interact with some baby animals at their petting zoo.
“We have different breeds of sheep, goats, we have a llama, we have an alpaca, his name is Beau. We have a cool zebu cow called Quasi-moo, he’s amazing, he’s really sweet and very small too,” says Sherry Gavlik, Manager of the Great American Entertainment Company. “We have chickens and ducks and then we have Rosie the potbelly pig.”
This is their first year at the Black Hills Stock Show.
Petting is free, but you can also buy food for the animals. It’s three dollars for one cone of food, or you can get two cones for five dollars.
The petting zoo is located beside the show rings in the Barnett Fieldhouse.
