People Helping People luncheon and workshop

Hosted by Black Hills Energy and the South Dakota Community Foundation

RAPID CITY, S.D. – Black Hills Energy and the South Dakota Community Foundation hosted a “People Helping People” luncheon and workshop at the Rushmore Hotel on Wednesday.

It’s an opportunity for local nonprofits to network and receive free training for their staff and leadership. Speakers and workshops were there to help nonprofit leaders learn to navigate through a changing world. There was also a millennial panel meant to help them think about different ways to appeal to a younger audience in terms of sponsorship, donors and volunteers.

Val Simpson with Black Hills Energy says this event is hosted every two years. “It’s a way to thank them for their hard work, and serving those in need in our communities and supporting good causes in our communities.”

Over 60 organizations and about 100 people participated from all throughout the Black Hills region.
