Pennington County to become “second amendment sanctuary county”

PENNINGTON COUNTY, S.D. — The Pennington County Commission has approved a resolution to make Pennington County a second amendment sanctuary county.

With a motion from Travis Lasseter, and a second from Deb Hadcock, the board unanimously approved the resolution making Pennington County a second amendment sanctuary county.

The resolution is totally symbolic, showing the board’s support of the second amendment and opposition to any attempts to limit the right to bear arms.

Lloyed Lacroix, Ward Two Commissioner, said “I think every event is different and each board should dig things up differently at those times but I think this is a guiding document to help them and a guiding document to help our legislators and our state.”

Bennett County passed a similar resolution last month.
