Pennington County Sheriff’s office reporting scam calls

PENNINGTON COUNTY, S.D. — The Pennington County Sheriffs Office has fielded some reports of scam calls that are demanding money or asking for personal information.

In the latest scam calls, the callers are impersonating Captain Marty Graves and saying that the victims of the scam calls have an outstanding warrant. The Pennington County Sheriff’s Office generally does not collect warrants or fines over the phone.

An individual is asked to settle a warrant fee in person. Anyone can confirm if they have an outstanding warrant by clicking on the link provided here.

If you are receiving a call from law enforcement that demands or solicits money over the phone, be skeptical. Hang up, and call law enforcement at (605) 394-6117.
