Pennington County Republican Party holds peaceful “Don’t Steal the Vote” rally
Members of the Pennington County Republican Party held a "Don't Steal the Vote" while calling for rioters in the U.S. Capitol to end the violence.
RAPID CITY, S.D. — Members of the Pennington County Republicans prayed at the “Don’t Steal the Vote” Rally held at the Memorial Park Bandshell Wednesday afternoon.
The reason for the assembly? Unease on how the 2020 Presidential Election as well as state elections went down.
“The ordinary folks are really concerned about the integrity of the election,” said Jeff Holbrook, the Chairman of the Pennington County Republicans.
The gathering was put together for members of the party who want to exercise their First Amendment rights regarding alleged voter fraud. At the rally, members of the party said it’s important to stand up and voice concerns in the right way.
Holbrook even plead with the rioters at the U.S. Capitol to end the violence and voice their concerns, saying people need to come together.
“It’s extremely important for both parties that there is a feeling of comfort that the election was held in the correct way,” Holbrook said. “People are not talking to one another, people are not listening to one another. They’re just lashing out with pure emotions. That’s not the way to act in a situation like this. People, talk to one another, overcome your differences, listen, talk and open a dialogue.”
Holbrook even said that it’s important for all elected officials to understand the party’s concern regarding the integrity of the vote and that a full investigation should have been launched.
