Pennington County looking for more community input on criminal justice reform

RAPID CITY, S.D. — Pennington County is in the midst of significant criminal justice reform efforts and it’s looking for community partners to join forces to help guide the years to come. It’s all part of the John D. and Catherine T. MacArthur Foundation Safety and Justice Challenge (SJC).

Pennington County hopes to involve more community members in our criminal justice reform efforts. They are seeking applicants for the Criminal Justice Community Engagement Workgroup (CJCEW).

The workgroup will consist of five to seven community members who are justice system-impacted and who have a strong desire to engage the community regarding criminal justice reform efforts. Priority will be given to applicants directly impacted by the criminal justice system, including victims of crime, persons who are formerly-incarcerated, or direct family members of formerly-incarcerated individuals.

Applications and additional information about the CJCEW will be available on June 21, 2019 at the Pennington County website
