Pennington County Chief Deputy announces he’ll run for Sheriff

PENNINGTON COUNTY, S.D. — 26-year Pennington County Sheriff’s Office veteran and Chief Deputy Brian Mueller announced Monday his intention to run for Pennington County Sheriff.

Mueller, who has held leadership roles in multiple division at the PCSO, says community safety is his number one priority.

“I want to serve as Sheriff to continue the outstanding work I have been a part of in Pennington County,” Mueller says. “Our staff and our office are well respected across the state, region, and nation for our collaboration and innovative solutions that save tax payers millions of dollars annually.”

The 48-year-old has three children with his wife, Jennifer, who is a teacher in Rapid City. Mueller also serves on “numerous nonprofit boards and volunteers in ways that strengthen our community.”

Mueller is set to make a public appearance on Monday, January 10 at 10:30 a.m. at the Rushmore Hotel in Rapid City.
