Vice President Mike Pence coming to Rapid City

RAPID CITY, S.D. – Vice President Mike Pence will be in Rapid City next week as the guest of Kristi Noem – the Republican candidate for governor.

It’s all for a “Rapid City Get Out the Vote Rally,” scheduled Monday, Nov. 5 at 1 p.m. It will be held at the West Jet Air Center next to the Rapid City Regional Airport.

According to the event’s website, the vice president is not soliciting any funds or donations.

Rapid City Mayor Steve Allender issued the following statement about the vice president’s visit:

“No matter the time of year, no matter the party, whenever a president, vice president, cabinet official or high-profile candidate visits Rapid City or South Dakota, it’s an opportunity for the city and state to be in the spotlight.  It’s a time when our citizens, the great aspects of our city and state, and the issues that motivate and challenge us get more attention by our national leaders and media. I welcome the vice president to Rapid City.”

Earlier this year, President Donald Trump campaigned for Noem in Sioux Falls.

Election Day is Nov. 6. Noem is up against Democrat Billie Sutton and Libertarian Kurt Evans.
