Pedestrian killed in Wyoming crash

CASPTER, Wyo. — One man died in a fatal crash involving a vehicle and a pedestrian west of Casper, Wyoming on Friday.

Wyoming Highway Patrol troopers were called to the scene before 1 a.m. on August 9. An eastbound Dodge was eastbound on the highway and was unable to avoid hitting a pedestrian on the roadway.

The pedestrian, 31-year-old Randal Vanfleet of Riverton, Wyoming, succumbed to his injuries at the scene of the crime. Drugs and alcohol are being investigated on the part of Vanfleet as a possible contributing factor.

The driver of the Dodge was wearing his seat belt and did not sustain any injuries in the crash.
