PCSO swears in new members

RAPID CITY, S.D. — On Thursday, the Pennington County Sheriff’s Office welcomed some new members to serve the public.

15 new members were sworn in during a formal ceremony on the second floor of the Pennington County Public Safety Building.

There are six new deputies, six correction officers, a jail booking tech, control room operator and juvenile services center registered nurse.

The son of the late Legislator Sean McPherson was among those sworn in.

“I wish he was here today to help him and my wife pin me,” said Weston McPherson, a Pennington County Sheriff’s Office Deputy. “Just being able to keep his legacy of community service alive means a lot to me.”

After being sworn, the newest members of the P.C.S.O. are ready fill their respective vacancies and to serve in their new roles.
