Pat Moriarty to take over as Cobblers Head Track and Field Coach

RAPID CITY, S.D. — Rapid City Central didn’t have to look very far to find its new Head Track and Field Coach.

Pat Moriarty will take over the Central track and field program starting next season.

Coach Moriarty has been coaching track and field for 15 seasons at the Class AA and Class A level.

In 2006, he began his coaching career at Lead-Deadwood before moving to Rapid City Central, serving as an assistant coach for eight years.

Moriarty was named head coach at Douglas High School in 2016 leading the patriots for two seasons.

He then returned to Central where he’s been an assistant for the last three years.

Moriarty replaces Dave Dolan who retired after 38 years of coaching, the last 18 years as the Cobblers head track coach.
