Park shelters, most restrooms to open Wednesday

RAPID CITY, S.D. — Effective Wednesday, all of the city’s park shelters and most park restroom facilities will be available for use.

The Rapid City Parks and Recreation staff are taking reservations for shelter use beginning that day.

Seven park shelters in the City’s park system are available for use by reservation while nine other facilities are available on a first come-first serve basis.

Park restroom facilities opening include three at Canyon Lake, two at Robbinsdale Park, Old Storybook Island, College Park, Mary Hall Park, Wilderness Park, and Wilson Park.

Closure restrictions for the year-round restroom facilities were lifted earlier this month, and additional restrooms in the city’s park system were opened.

Five park restroom facilities will remain closed for the season in Horace Mann, 32nd Street, Storybook Island, Roosevelt, and Thomson parks.
