Parents of baby who died held on $1 million bond

WILLISTON, N.D. (AP) — The parents of a 1-month-old baby have been charged with child abuse after the boy died at a hotel in Williston.

Twenty-seven-year-old Tank McMillin and 18-year-old Hannah McMillin appeared in court Monday afternoon where a judge ordered that each be held on $1 million bond.

The parents were arrested after police were called to the Four Points Sheraton Friday on a report of a child not breathing. The baby was pronounced dead at a Williston hospital a short time later.

KFYR-TV reports court documents say the baby had bruising to his abdomen, back, sides, buttocks and feet. The documents say the parents told police they put a blanket or pillows on the baby’s face.

The Williams County State’s Attorney’s Office continues to review the case. Additional charges could be filed.
