Over 100 people to search for Serenity Dennard over the weekend

PENNINGTON COUNTY, S.D. – About 120 people will gather early Saturday, June 8, to search for Serenity Dennard. The child went missing February 3 from the Black Hills Children’s Home in Rockerville.

The Pennington County Sheriff’s Office and Pennington County Search and Rescue will lead the team. Searchers join us from the Rapid City Police Department, Box Elder Police Department, United States Air Force, South Dakota Civil Air Patrol and Wyoming Search and Rescue.

This is a continuation of a methodical search using GPS in a search grid surrounding the Black Hills Children’s Home. Searchers will comb through rugged and hilly terrain in a tight pattern. The Gaslight Restaurant in Rockerville will be providing lunch for all those involved in the search.

Serenity is a Caucasian female, 4 foot 7 inches, 96 pounds, with blue eyes and shoulder length dark blonde hair. She was nine years old when she went missing, last seen wearing a long sleeved grey shirt with flowers, blue jeans and black snow boots.
