OST president warns tribe about fake memo

PORCUPINE, S.D. – The president of the Oglala Sioux Tribe is warning tribal employees and enrolled members about a fake memo.

Troy “Scott” Weston says tribal employees had received a memo on “fraudulent” letterhead, claiming to be from the office of the tribal president.

Based on a URL and email address on the memo, it appears to have been sent by a rival candidate for tribal president.

Weston says unless a memo or other document says it comes from the office of Troy “Scott” Weston, don’t believe it.
