One person killed in Deadwood Ave motorcycle crash

RAPID CITY, S.D. — A 29-year-old man has died following a motorcycle crash on North Deadwood Avenue Tuesday afternoon.

A 2001 Harley Davidson FLSTF Fat Boy motorcycle was traveling southbound on North Deadwood Avenue when the rider failed to negotiate a curve. The motorcycle left the roadway and went into the ditch.

The rider was not wearing a helmet and was thrown from the motorcycle. He was transported to a Rapid City hospital where he died from his injuries Wednesday morning.

The riders name is not being released pending notification of next-of-kin.

South Dakota Highway Patrol is investigating the crash. All information released so far is only preliminary.
