One injured in chain-reaction crash in Rapid City

RAPID CITY, S.D. — One person was injured in a three-vehicle crash at the intersection of W. Chicago Street & Sturgis Road just after 12:00 p.m. Friday.

According to Brendyn Medina, the Community Relations Specialist for the Rapid City Police Department, two vehicles were stopped at a red light at the intersection when a Black Ford F-150 pickup traveling west on W. Chicago Street, hit the second car stopped at the light. This caused the second car to hit the first car stopped at the red light.

The driver of the Ford F-150 pickup was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

The Rapid City Police Department and Rapid City Fire Department were responding on the scene.
