One injured after car hits motorcycle in Box Elder

BOX ELDER, S.D. — A motorcyclist was sent to the hospital with minor injuries after being struck by a car Thursday morning.

Around 9:00 am, police were called to the intersection of North Interstate 90 Service Road and Americas Way to respond to reports of a motorcycle-car collision.

The driver of the automobile had been attempting to turn left off of Americas Way when they struck the westbound motorcyclist, who they had failed to notice.

The motorcyclist was thrown from their motorcycle, but only sustained what Box Elder Police describe as “superficial injuries”. Neither the driver nor the passenger of the car was injured.

No charges were filed against either party, and the motorcyclist was taken to Monument Hospital for treatment.
