One for the road: Trailer spills beer on SD highway

TRIPP COUNTY, S.D. – Cases and cases of beer spilled out of a semi-tractor early Wednesday morning on a South Dakota highway.

Just after 12:30 a.m., a driver of a semi-tractor trailer failed to negotiate a curve on SD 44 near Witten. The crash, causing the truck to roll onto its side and burst open. The contents, pouring into the ditch below as seen in a Facebook post from the South Dakota Highway Patrol.

The driver received minor injuries from the crash.

According to Highway Patrol spokesperson Tony Mangan, there is no word on how long the cleanup took though many have offered via Facebook to aid in the efforts.

The Tripp County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate the crash.
