One dead, another injured in rollover on I-90 in Rapid City

RAPID CITY, S.D. – One man was killed and a woman was seriously injured Tuesday night in a one-vehicle crash in Rapid City.

Preliminary crash information from the South Dakota Highway Patrol indicates that a 2005 Saturn Vue was westbound on Interstate 90 when the vehicle entered the median, crossed the eastbound lanes, went into the ditch and eventually rolled.

Both occupants were not wearing seat belts and were thrown from the vehicle. The 32-year-old male driver was pronounced dead at the scene. The 33-year-old female passenger sustained life-threatening injuries and was taken by ambulance to a Rapid City hospital.

Names of the two people involved are not being released pending notification of family members. All information released so far is only preliminary.
