One dead after shooting, heavy police presence at Nowlin Street, Farlow Ave in Rapid City
UPDATE (4/9/21 @ 8:12 p.m.): Rapid City Police have confirmed that the shooting victims were both adult males. One was found deceased at 212 East Blvd. North, and the other was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
UPDATE (4/9/21 @ 7:45 p.m.): Rapid City Police responded to a call around 4:15 p.m. at 212 East Boulevard North for a report of shots fired. An investigation at the scene led to the identification of a vehicle, a 2011 gold Pontiac, which was then spotted in the area of Farlow Avenue. Several individuals from the vehicle fled into an occupied residence on the 1100 block of Farlow Avenue for 30-45 minutes before coming out.
Police are continuing to conduct interviews to determine individuals involvement in the shooting. Police have not identified a suspect yet, however, they say cameras were in operation outside where the shooting took place, so they hope to identify the shooter from there. Use of the cameras allowed police to identify the suspect vehicle.
RCPD does not believe there to be a danger to the public at this time.
UPDATE (4/9/21 @ 7:15 p.m.): Rapid City Police have confirmed that the occupants of the residence have all come out and the investigation will continue.

RAPID CITY, S.D. — One person is dead and another injured after a shooting on East North Street Friday evening.
A suspect was identified by Rapid City Police and located in the area of Nowlin Street and Farlow Avenue.
When police attempted a traffic stop, the occupants of the vehicle fled into a nearby residence. RCPD is working to make contact with the individuals inside to resolve the situation.
