One cited in Deadwood Avenue crash

RAPID CITY S.D. – One driver was cited after they failed to yield on Deadwood Avenue.

It happened just after 2:30 on Monday afternoon right in front of the U-Haul store.

Sgt. Chris Hunt with the Rapid City Police Department said a driver pulled out of a private road and an oncoming car swerved to avoid the. They then crashed into a utility box.

Sgt. Hunt said that Black Hills Energy was called to the scene, but said it wasn’t their box. Hunt said it could have  belonged to the city or a cable company.

He also said the sun which was low in the sky, may have played a factor in the crash.

There were no injuries. The crash is currently under investigation.
