Oladokun prepares for Pittsburgh Steelers rookie minicamp

BROOKINGS, S.D. — South Dakota State University Jackrabbit supporters, your quarterback is heading to the NFL.

Chris Oladokun was drafted by the Pittsburgh Steelers in the seventh round of the 2022 NFL Draft, with the 214st overall selection.

Oladokun is from Tampa, Florida and transferred to SDSU after playing at Samford University and the University of South Florida.

Last season for the Jackrabbits, he threw for 3,164 yards and 25 touchdowns against seven interceptions.

Oladokun was the second quarterback drafted by the Steelers, the other was first rounder Kenny Pickett from The University of Pittsburgh.

Oladokun says says he’s looking forward to using the same approach that got him to being selected.

“Whether it’s on the field and helping guys study, at the hotel or you know taking the extra reps after practice and just soaking in, like I said before, soaking everything I can on and off the field and in the classroom. Or I think everything will take care of itself by just being myself and going out there. And you know, just that my God given ability to take over,” Oladokun said.

Oladokun will attend the Steelers rookie mini-camp being held from May 13 thru May 15.

By the way, SDSU running back Pierre Strong Jr was drafted in the fourth round by the New England Patriots.
