Oilers dominate the Rush, 5-1

 

RAPID CITY, S.D. – The Rapid City Rush continued their three-game series Friday against the Tulsa Oilers.

Tulsa jumped out a 2-0 lead after the first period and cruised to a 5-1 win over the Rush.

Garret Cockerill led the Oilers with two power play goals.

Tyler Coulter provided the lone bright spot for the Rush with a goal early in the third period.

There were a total of 81 PIM in the game with 79 of those in the final two periods.

Gordy Dafiel suffered the loss in 21:01 of his start, stopping 9 of 12 shots on net for the Rush.

Adam Carlson came in relief and stopped 18 of 20 shots.

Tulsa improve to 10-10-2-1 on the season, while Rapid City falls to 8-15.

The Rush conclude their series with Tulsa on Saturday.

The puck is slated to drop at 7:05 p.m. at the Rushmore Plaza Civic Center.
