North LaCrosse Street exit will be temporarily closed at nighttime

Road ReconstructionRAPID CITY, S.D. – Exit 59 (North LaCrosse Street) and Interstate I-90 will be closed temporarily.

In a news release, The South Dakota Department of Transportation explains that the closure is due to the need of removing and replacing the old bridge griders on the east side of the N. LaCrosse Street Bridge. Consequently, traffic will be rerouted immediately back onto I-90. Speed limits in this area will be reduced to 25 mph.

For everyone’s safety, the public is being asked to be aware of construction workers and equipment in this area.

This is the second year of the project to reconstruct the interchange on I-90 at Exit 59.  Complete Contracting of Rapid City is the prime contractor on the $17 million project. The anticipated completion date is June 2023.

Complete road construction information is available for this project at:  https://www.i90lacrosseddi.com/ and on https://sd511.org or by dialing 511.
