The North Dakota Department of Health has tallied 3,816 cases, but 87% of those have recovered. 80 people have died from COVID-19, while 22 are currently hospitalized.

For most people, the coronavirus causes mild or moderate symptoms, such as fever and cough that clear up in two to three weeks.

For some, especially older adults and people with existing health problems, it can cause more severe illness, including pneumonia.
