Nine-year-old victim identified in Lawrence Co. fatal crash
Pullen was the passenger of a 2006 GMC Sierra pickup that left the roadway, went into the ditch, and rolled.
Jessy Pullen the 40-year-old male driver, sustained life-threatening injuries.
Neither the driver or passenger were wearing a seat belt.
DEADWOOD, S.D. — A one-vehicle crash occurred Thursday afternoon north of Deadwood leaving one dead and one seriously injured.
Preliminary crash information indicates that a 2006 GMC Sierra K1500 pickup was southbound on Highway 85 when it left the roadway, went into the ditch and rolled.
The nine-year-old male passenger was thrown from the vehicle and pronounced dead at the scene, but the 40-year-old male driver sustained life-threatening injuries and was taken to a Rapid City hospital.
Neither occupant was wearing a seat belt.
The names of the two people involved are not being released pending notification of family members.
The South Dakota Highway Patrol is investigating the crash, and all information is preliminary at this time.
